Importance and Procedures of Maintenance on an LPG Gas Stove Burner

If you have an LPG gas stove burner and the flame from it is not exactly clear blue and is sputtering, then you may have a problem with the burner. Maintenance is necessary because a weak flame like this is a danger to the person using the stove, and it could cause an explosion. Maintaining it will also ensure that you keep your energy costs low because it avoids wastage.

Whether you are using LPG or industrial gas burners, getting rid of spillages is very important. The stove you are using can also determine if spillages will play a role in reducing the efficiency of the stove. There are two types of stoves used at home. The open and the sealed cook top stove and oven repair altadena.

Open and Sealed Stoves

The first one means that the cook top is open and therefore the spillages could find their way to the burner. The sealed stove has a sealed cook top that prevents spillages from finding their way to the back of the stove. Open stoves are more efficient when it comes to cooking, but require a low of maintenance. The sealed design compromises the efficiency of the stove while making it last longer without maintenance.

If you look at it from a different angle, the sealed stove may be more efficient than the open one in the long run, since spillages do not significantly affect its efficiency. Industrial burners should be maintained regularly, because they are smaller in diameter in order to focus the flame better

Cleaning the Stove

Cleaning the LPG gas stove burner on a regular basis is important to remove the grease that may accumulate and clog the system and prevent it from working properly. Cleaning can be done by removing the cook top of the stove.

Remove the burner and clean it with hot water. Ensure you remove as much grease from it as you can. Locate the flame and flash tube openings, then using a thin wire; remove any dirt that may be stuck in there. You may reassemble the whole unit and test it, by checking the quality of the flame.

Importance of Materials Used

Both stove and industrial gas burners should be made of materials that can withstand rust and corrosion. This is even more important for industrial gases like acetylene which may corrode it. For heavy applications, it is important to consider high end materials such as cast brass and stainless steel. Other materials such as cast iron will begin to rust after sometime.
